Daytona LandShark restaurant 3-day job fair aims to fill 180 jobs

DAYTONA BEACH — The LandShark Bar & Grill under construction along State Road A1A will hold a three-day job fair starting Monday to fill 180 positions ahead of its planned opening in January.

The hiring event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day in the River Room at The Shores Resort & Spa, 2637 S. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach Shores.

The LandShark restaurant is being built at 451 S. Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach as part of a two-restaurant development that will include a separately owned and operated Cocina 214 Tex-Mex restaurant. Both are slated to open in time for the start of Speedweeks, which kicks off with the Rolex 24 at Daytona race at Daytona International Speedway on Jan. 27.

“They’re planning to open in mid-to-late January,” said Angela Hall, a spokeswoman for LandShark.

Cocina 214 plans to hire approximately 75 workers, with a job fair planned at its Daytona Beach location, from Jan. 2-7, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, said Lambrine Macejewski, a co-owner of the independently owned Winter Park restaurant.

“We’ll begin training the next week,” Macejewski said, adding that the goal is for both her retaurant and LandShark to hold a joint grand opening event.

Available positions at LandShark include restaurant supervisors, servers, bartenders, hosts, line and prep cooks, bussers and bar backs, dishwashers and cashiers. Previous experience is recommended, but not required.

Full-time employees are offered benefits, according to a news release. Training for the new hires is scheduled for early January.
