DAYTONA BEACH — With its scheduled grand opening less than a month away, the Daytona Beach Tanger Outlets mall under construction on the east side of Interstate 95 looks far from ready. Construction workers on Friday could be seen pouring concrete and the outlet mall’s recently erected main sign is still only partially complete.
Tanger officials declined to comment for this story, but the outlet mall’s general manager, Scott Sadove, told The News-Journal last week that the project remained on schedule to open 9 a.m. Nov. 18. The North Carolina-based outlet mall developer’s track record suggests it will make that deadline, say observers who witnessed the construction of the Tanger Outlets mall near Columbus, Ohio, which opened in June.
