Specialty grocer coming to Daytona at LPGA and Williamson

DAYTONA BEACH — A specialty grocer is coming to the red-hot LPGA Boulevard corridor, but its identity remains a mystery. Consolidated-Tomoka Land Co. announced that it has agreed to sell a 9-acre parcel of land at the northeast corner of LPGA and Williamson boulevards to a developer that plans to build a specialty grocery store.

The unnamed developer will be paying $2.7 million for the L-shaped vacant site, which is bordered by LPGA and Williamson boulevards on the south and west, the new Sand Parc luxury apartments to the north and the Consolidated-Tomoka-owned Concierge office building on the east. The Concierge building’s tenants include a Merrill Lynch branch office.

The news release did not name the grocery store chain. The sale is expected to close by this fall. The announcement comes on the heels of Consolidated-Tomoka’s sale of 4.5 acres at the northeast corner of LPGA and Concierge boulevards to a local family that operates several Dunkin’ Donut franchise stores in the area, and which plans to build a standalone Dunkin’ Donuts with a drive-through lane. Consolidated-Tomoka also recently announced its agreement to sell 35 acres along the north side of LPGA Boulevard, just east of Interstate 95, to Texas-based Buc-ee’s, which is planning a 120-pump gas station and a supermarket-sized 50,000-square-foot travel convenienice center.
