Daytona Dave & Buster’s set to open March 11

DAYTONA BEACH — Hiring is underway for the Dave & Buster’s that’s set to open March 11 at Tomoka Town Center.

The daily job fair at the Holiday Inn-LPGA hotel north of Daytona International Automall began Feb. 6.

More than 2,000 people have already applied, counting both in-person walk-ins as well as online applicants, said Dave Joy, the restaurant/video arcade’s general manager.

The hiring event to fill 220 full- and part-time positions runs through Feb. 23.

“Not including today (Monday, Feb. 11), we’re at 69 (hires),” said Joy.

The 30,000-square-foot Dave & Buster’s at Tomoka Town Center, just east of Interstate 95, will be the Dallas, Texas-based chain’s seventh location in Florida. Its two closest locations currently are in Jacksonville and Orlando.

Construction of the standalone restaurant/video arcade is nearly completed, but the video and arcade games have yet to be installed, Joy said.

When it opens, the Daytona Beach Dave & Buster’s will offer more than 150 of the “latest and greatest” video and arcade games, including some that will offer a “unique VR (virtual reality) experience,” Joy said.

It will also offer a sports lounge and a full-service restaurant and will have dozens of flat-screen televisions, including three with 181-inch-wide screens.

“We’ll show every sporting event on some of the area’s largest screens,” Joy said.

The restaurant will offer “moderate-priced fare,” with entrees ranging in price from $10 to $20.
